Visiting BM&AG
About BM&AG
Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery is a listed Victorian Gothic building in the centre of the town. Two minutes walk from Marks and Spencer, you can easily pop in for a visit to its fine collections while you’re out shopping.
It has the largest icon collection outside London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. Britain’s 2nd largest collection of Japanese woodcut prints, numerous watercolours and oil paintings, ceramics and the outstanding Hart collection of coins, books, medieval manuscripts and prints displayed in special low light conditions. The only permanent gallery of Indian and Pakistani culture in the North West.
The displays are modern and accessible. Where else can you use binoculars (provided) to do your museum bird spotting?
